Tito Puente (1923-2000) was an American musician, bandleader and record producer whose career spanned over five decades. According to Billboard, he was recognized with honorific nicknames from "King of Latin Music" to "King of the Timbales." His awards include five Grammy Awards from ten nominations in competitive categories, two Latin Grammys, three Billboard Latin Music Awards (including an honorific recognition), and various Latin ACE awards from the Association of Latin Entertainment Critics.
